Summer

I can’t wait for this summer.  As a student I would have never guessed that the teachers looked more forward to the summer than the students, but I think it is probably universally true.

Oh all of the things to do.

  • Teach summer school for 6 weeks out of 12 weeks (M-Th, 8-noon)
  • read
  • play poker
  • exercise
  • work on next years curriculum

But what else should I do? What books should I read? Should I try to learn something new? If so, what? Any suggestions?

Those people

When you read the bible do you think….

Why did those people do that?

or do you think….

Am I the kind of person that would do that?  What can I do to not behave in that way?  How have I acted that way?  Please forgive me.

I get frustrated when those people do that.  :-P

These are words that summarize the many thoughts  running through my mind as I read this article about a wonderful little experiment that took place at a subway in Washington DC.

Come quickly, Lord.

It is times such as these, the tragedy at Va. Tech, that I most pray for the Lord to return.

Blessed Be Your Name
By Matt Redman

Blessed be your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where the streams of abundance flow
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
When I’m found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out,
I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say…
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

Blessed be your name
When the sun’s shining down on me
When the world’s all as it should be
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there’s pain in the offering
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out,
I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say…
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, Blessed be your name

Three

The Three

Does this picture look familiar?  Well at least the part on the left does.  Iran’s propaganda machine only published those on the left.

At least the 3 on the right recognized what was really going on.

Oh, one last thing, I don’t know if the British Marines are like our Marines, if they are, my bet is those guys on the right are the marines that were captured.
